Past Relationship Regrets? Anyone?

Usually, when you ask people if they have any regrets, most people diplomatically reply by saying they don’t have regrets, rather they learn from every situation no matter how terrible it was but then, haven’t you ever looked back at some decisions you made and felt you should have done better? I know we’ve moved on but then, a reflection of these things won’t be a bad idea once in a while so we can know where we erred and how well we’ve improved over the years. Today, we won’t be talking about random mistakes, we would talk about things we consider regrets in our past relationships. I don’t want to believe there’s anyone here who hasn’t been in some sort of relationship at some point in their lives though not everyone might have had an entirely bad experience but there must have been something, you get the point yeah?

I read about this online so it hit me as I also have my own share of ‘I wish I didn’t or I wish I did’ experiences. So let’s look back at our previous partners, what did you regret? Not collecting enough money from that dude? Yes, a lot of girls regret not sucking the guy dry financially especially if he really treated them badly or maybe he just had too much money that they couldn’t tap enough of. One of the responses I saw got me rolling on the floor laughing (not literarily though). Okay, the guy said he didn’t sleep with the girl enough then someone had to ask if he wanted ‘take away’, the ‘take away’ made me laugh like how would you possibly want a take away pack of sexual experiences if such even exists? I don’t blame some dudes when they believe they’ve not gotten enough of the babe before she slipped off his hands. After spending so much on a girl (serious investment, lol) and you don’t end up doing the ‘thing’ (gbese (debt)) which leads to regrets as everything didn’t work as planned.
Asides the aforementioned reasons, there are other deep reasons that cause people to regret being with someone they used to love. Cases of infidelity especially if the act was committed with one’s close friend or family can lead to the victim regretting having a relationship with such partner. Some other people regret being ‘used’ either emotionally, financially or physically by someone they thought was in love with them. To some people, it’s not about how much they invested, it’s about the person everything was done for who turned out to be not who they thought they were or who they expected them to me. So it’s a matter of wasted time, energy, money, emotions etc. Though I read somewhere where it was written that you shouldn’t regret any decisions made because at the time it happened, you were certain it was what you wanted but this is just us talking yeah?

I guess you’re probably thinking about that guy or girl who wasn’t totally a flop throughout the relationship but then it didn’t work out for some reason and it most likely didn’t hurt much because you both understood that it was best for the relationship to end, I wouldn’t call that kind of ending a regrettable one (depends on why they had to part though). But then, there are just some exceptional cases when you feel the relationship was a total waste of time and that’s where the regret comes in. Cases where you felt you weren't respected enough, loved enough, everything enough, you know the drill but even in our reflections, let's not forget that there's a reason why it's in the past and it should remain there. Inspite of whatever we think we should have done differently, we need to move on and take the lessons into our present or future relationships. That would be proof that we truly learned regardless of our regrets.

Who Says There Are No Pervs In Church?

Dear OTTH readers, how are we? I spent my weekend resting and going through dorisaniunoh.blogspot.com, you know as a writer, one shouldn't depend on themselves, so every now and then, I go through other blogs because not only do I learn a lot from them, they also inspire me to write something. I love reading from Doris' blog because like me, she writes real life stuff, something I could actually relate to not how Davido got robbed and the likes. I've been meaning to write about this in a while but procrastination won't let me but today I have bound the spirit hence here it is. I'm certain we all know who a perv is but just incase we don't, perv is the shortform for the word "pervert" and it refers to someone who's sexually obsessed according to Google and that's about what it means so I guess we all get the picture and we'd understand better as we proceed. I've always thought pastors would at least act like pastors no matter the tempt...

Love With Blood?

Dear OTTH readers, I hope we're good because I'm very fine. You know me and the things that bother me, lol. The other day, I was discussing with Anuli (CEO, Iluna photography)  about how I think it's abnormal to have sexual relations with any member of ones family and she made a point by saying that it's a norm in some places #onemansmeat...you know the drill but that it doesn't make it right. I understand that people crush on their cousins and all and I also understand that my culture might be a taboo someplace else but haba! Why would you have sexual relations with your family member? I used to think it was always sexual abuse when things like that happen but I've found out that people actually do it with pride and talk about it without shame. I remember someone telling me how he makes out with his cousin and he loves her so much and I'm like gfhdsshgk? Over the years, I've heard and I still hear of different cases of incest and it was beginning t...

Mirabel's Dairy

My name is Mirabel Blakewood, I'm 20 years old. My parents died when I was 6 in a car accident on the 25th of July, 2001 and I've been living with Maternal Grandmother until she also passed away when I was 15. I still stay at my Grandmother's till date. I'm quite tall, I have brown eyes just like my Dad's. I remember it when he used to read me bedtime stories, I would stare deep into his eyes till I fell asleep. I keep a small circle of friends - Jeff, Sarah, Lionel and Amy. We've been friends since we were kids. They've been my family too. My Grandmother was a very quiet woman, she was a woman of noble mien. She had no friends and she barely spoke to anyone. She would say hello to few people after the service on Sunday then be back to her normal withdrawn self. There was something my Grandma passed on to me, it's called the Peth spirit. It was passed on to her by her mother when she was dying but my Mum didn't live long enough for it to b...
