Sex With The Ex

When does cheating really become cheating because I sincerely don’t understand anymore. So I was talking to my girlfriend who was talking about her ex-boyfriend who’s now married. So our conversation went like this;
LMAOOOOOOOOOOO

Me: So Aliyu (not real name) is now married?
Her: Yes na, you didn’t know, since sef
Me: Wow
Her: But he likes women ehn, he doesn’t drink or smoke but he can womanise for Africa
Me: Are you sure he’ll be a faithful husband like this?
Her: Ah yes, he’s a faithful husband
Me: Ehn, so how do you know?
Her: He’s a faithful husband
Me: Ehn but how do you know?

Ghen ghen
I expected her to tell me how he probably turned down one hot chic’s advances because he felt his wife was enough for him and stuff like that but instead she said,

Her: Few weeks before his wedding, he came to me to apologize for everything and the idiot even said we should shag one last time
Me: He’s an oniranu (someone that does iranu, lol, sorry, errr, flirt, womanizer, woman whore etc, you dig?) obviously
Her: Funny enough, we did ‘it’ sha
Me: So how does this mean he’s a faithful husband when he’s sleeping with someone else just few weeks to his wedding?
Her: Ehen, people do it na
Me: Hhjghrugurugfisbhkdfhk (under my breath though)
I totally agree with this
So I was wondering how sleeping with someone few weeks to your wedding shouldn’t be counted as cheating just because you’ve not cheated after marriage…yet. When did apologies ever become sexual? Okay scratch that. I’ve actually read a couple of stories like this and its always told in a way that doesn’t see anything wrong with your ex before marriage as a way of closing the deal or saying sorry but it just hasn’t still made sense to me. Oh, is this the part where sleeping with someone you’ve slept with before isn’t call cheating? Its call what then? Catching up? What happened to the part where hiding texts or having flirty chats with someone other than your partner is referred to as cheating?  Well, I guess cheating will always mean different things to different people.

Dunsin's Kitchen - Second Year Anniversary

I’m not a fan of long WhatsApp posts hence the need to write, post and just share the link on one WhatsApp/Instagram post. I’m a bit rusty (writing-wise) sha but I’ll try. I want to talk about how Dunsin’s Kitchen (DK) started because it’s our second anniversary today. I never imagined being a cook at this time, not with banking and family stress. I’ve imagined selling food a couple of times and it was inspired by one boli and beans seller in Asaba during my NYSC in 2014. I told my friend Osaru then that I’d love to start a place like that and call it Boli Kitchen. We just used to laugh about it then plus I’m not really a fan of beans though I could cook it well if I wanted to. Fast forward to 2020, we had a guest- my husband’s colleague who I served jollof rice and she kept talking about how good it was. One day, she said she would love to buy if I could make it for her so I agreed. Then I decided to ask others if they’d like to buy so I wouldn’t be making a small portion and some agr...

My Marriage Story...So Far

I get to be asked about how marriage has been a lot by some of my unmarried friends. I’ve not even been married for long enough to be qualified to answer that question. From my little experience, marriage, like any other phase in life isn’t all smooth. It has its ups and downs. There’s an extra respect you get as soon as you get married. I get to be called MA a lot by people who wouldn’t ordinarily call me that and I’m wondering why. I guess it’s just the way the society has made it. Oh and I lost some friends as soon as I got the MRS title. Some people don’t care about how serious your relationship is, they’d still be on your ‘case’ but as soon as you say “I do”, they’d forget you like you never existed. This was good and bad for me because I considered some to be great friends but then, I guess I was wrong. Then there’s the pressure to get pregnant, I got lucky to get pregnant earlier than I thought though I wasn’t even ready. But before my body began announcing it, I still...

Life after Death...real or not?

Life after death....hmmmm      I know we've all heard or read stories about people who lived after they died.      I'm not talking about reincarnation this time, I'm talking about people who were confirmed dead but were still recognised elsewhere alive, hale and hearty.      Okay, there was this lady who resided close to my house diagnosed with tuberculosis or something related because she was drying up real bad, might have been Hiv too (just saying), she usually patronised my shop where soft drinks and snacks were sold. She usually bought only pepsi or 7up, as the spirit led her I guess.      I was very young then and observant too as always so one day she came as usual, bought 7up and left. Not long after she left, I heard that she had died the previous day.      I wondered how someone could be dead and still buy her usual the next day, I thought it was a strange thing so I never told anyone.   ...
